🐾 Add the next movement

Now we add the next part to our little “choreography”:

the leg moves too.

The beginning stays exactly the same:

➡️ Walk backwards
➡️ Stop
➡️ Close the hand
➡️ Move the hand away
➡️ Shift your body weight backwards

At this point, your weight is on the back leg and the front leg, which is closer to the dog, becomes free.

🦵 Move the leg – not the whole body

Now move that free leg backwards.

But very important:

Do not shift your body weight onto it yet.

The leg simply moves back while staying light and controlled.

Then:

➡️ Bring the leg back
➡️ Shift your body weight forward again
➡️ Bring the hand back to the dog
➡️ Reward

🎯 Keep the movement small and clear

At this stage, we are still not taking a full step away.

The goal is simply to teach the dog that more and more of your body can move while the Stand stays the same.

🎥 If something goes wrong

If your dog moves or loses the position, film yourself.

Ask:

✅ Did I move the hand clearly enough?
✅ Did I shift my weight by accident?
✅ Did I progress too quickly?

Very often, the problem is not the dog — it is a small inconsistency in our own movement.

💡 Stay precise here. The cleaner this step is, the easier the real distance will become later.
